Florida interstate car accident knocks down power lines
When traveling on busy highways in a populous state like Florida, an inattentive driver can cause an accident that has far-reaching consequences. When we hear about a car accident, we think of two vehicles colliding and the incident not extending beyond the two vehicles and occupants in these vehicles, but this is not always the case.
Recently a car accident created so much damage that it shut down Florida’s Interstate 95 for four hours. The crash occurred when a tractor-trailer attempted to change lanes and in the process hit another vehicle. The crash was so violent that the second vehicle swerved across multiple lanes and collided with a third vehicle, eventually ending up crashing through a fence and into a power utility pole
The power lines were knocked down over the road, causing a brush fire with intense black smoke. The path taken by the accident is unusual but a good example of the risk to the health and safety of innocent drivers that often happens in car accidents.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the utility pole was lucky to escape with only minor injuries but the stress experienced from being trapped in a moving car crossing several lanes of busy highway and then crashing into a utility pole cannot be ignored.
The trauma suffered from such an ordeal may entitle the drivers of the vehicles involved after the tractor-trailer started the accident to compensation. A personal injury attorney can look at all aspects of the event as reported by law enforcement who investigated the accident and other witness testimony in thoroughly evaluating a case and working to secure the appropriate amount of compensation.
